Primary education started in the year 1966 at Central School for Tibetans, Mt. Abu in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Alumnus of Central School for Tibetans, Panchmarhi in Madya Pradesh, Central School for Tibetans, Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh and finally cleared All India Senior School Secondary School (AISSC) examination from Central School for Tibetans, Darjeeling, West Bengal in1979 in the first division category. As per instruction from the Central Tibetan Administration, joined Special Frontier Force (SFF) Academy in 1980 and completed all the basic trainings of the regular army.
The following year, joined Ramjas College, Delhi University to pursue further education. Before being graduated from the Delhi University, got enrolled into the Vth batch of the Tibetan Medical College based in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh in the year March 1982. It is from here that the formal education in the field of Tibetan Medicine started. Graduated in the year 1987 with Menpa Kachupa diploma. Had done internship at the Ladakh branch clinic of Men Tsee Khang for one year. In March 1988, got designated as the resident doctor of Ladakh branch clinic of Men Tsee Khang. Clinical practice started from Ladakh and was one of the most exciting and unforgettable moment of lifetime. In March 1993, entrusted to teach Tibetan medicine at the Medical College of Men Tsee Khang, Dharamsala. In March 1999, got promoted to Menrampa after having cleared a series of examination in the first division, conducted by Men Tsee Khang. Since 2002, working as chief translator for the Translation Project of Men Tsee Khang. In Jan 2007 got elected as the Secretary General of the Central Council of Tibetan Medicine.
Travelled for the first time to the West in the year 1992. So far, travelled to various places in Europe and particularly to Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, England, Norway and Sweden both privately and officially for medical conference, seminars, lectures and holding consultations. One of the thing that Westerners admire the most is the pulse examination and the instructions on diet in Tibetan Medicine.
